Overscan Compensation not saved to
A year and a half later and this bug persists. I figured out that I was
using the wrong option. Adding this to my .nvidia-settings-rc it seemed
to fix the problem:
0/OverscanCompensation[DFP-1]=32
For whatever reason, this option is not getting written to the config
file when it is changed
Any suggestions for a workaround in the meantime?

While figuring out what's happening with Disable touch while typing
with syndaemon, I tried running it manually syndaemon -i 3 -k -t -R
and it started working much better!

I'm having issues with the shift keys using a US keyboard layout. I can't, for
example, use the right shift key to get a capital S, or a semicolon, but the
