I haven't debugged deeply, but I'm not sure that their absence from langdb is
necessarily the problem, even though it might be.
A more likely problem is that the language list is not set correctly when
initializing the jquery.uls plugin. It must be set correctly

It's OK to add it for everything. However, what's the autonym? That is, what

The Wikidata item says "Aghem". The Wikipedia article says "Wum or Yum", but
it's unclear to me what is the source for this.

Aha, so as I suspected, it probably is a Malayalam encoding issue. There was
a change in how Malayalam final letters are encoded about eleven years ago. I'd
expect this not to throw an error, but to be automatically compatible in
MediaWiki's Unicode handling

"und" is for undetermined languages. These languages are determined. This was

Perhaps for something like movie titles in Wikidata it can be a qualifier
rather than a language code?

General comment: Sorry about some delays these days. I have some unexpected
stuff In Real Life (silly things, don't worry about me), and it coincides with
a large wave of Language codes issues. I'll respond to everything some time
