My guess is that, as suggested by James Cloos, the problem resides in the unicode-math package for 64-bit machines when compiled with xelatex. I have tested your file with the 64-bit XeTeX on Solaris 11 and the horizontal line is not there. On the other hand, the 32-bit binary produces
