Pidgin is a client, just like Miranda, PSI and the others you tried.
If the disconnection happens with all of the clients, I doubt there is anything 
you can do on the Pidgin side to resolve.

One thing you could do is start Pidgin with debugging and then look at the log 
for possibly more detailed errors, though I don't know how helpful it will be.

My batch file (on Windows) looks like this:

        @echo off
        set PURPLE_UNSAFE_DEBUG=1
        set PURPLE_GNUTLS_DEBUG=1
        set PURPLE_VERBOSE_DEBUG=1
        "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Pidgin\pidgin.exe" -d 2>&1 >
