Marketing is an entirely separate issue, so it really makes little
difference in what host you use from that aspect. But Youtube provides
the *additional* benefit of that massive existing viewer base and
people using it as search engine. So if you are starting out and you
are not on Youtube you miss out on that potentially very valuable
benefit.
Remember, Youtube gets TWO BILLION views (and searches) a DAY.
Youtube videos also gets indexed and show up on Google searches MUCH
better and more frequently than any other video host.

To a beginner starting out in Video Blogging, who generally won't know
much about anything, I'd strongly recommend they have a presence on
Youtube.
