Last night i found a Performa 6300 (AKA PowerMac 6200, 6230 etc.) sitting outside a neighbour's place (I.E. side of the street waiting to go to the trash company) - I noticed that it is a 'four-dots - AVOID IF AT ALL POSSIBLE' road apple, but all the same, It's my first PowerMac (Not counting that 7300/200 i found with no ROM...Anybody got a PowerMac 7300/200 ROM card they don't need?)
I noticed that some people have called the PM6200 a 'Quadra 630 with inbuilt PowerPC upgrade card' - i am inclined to agree, but anyhow... Anybody got some tips on how to use this nice little mac? it has Mac OS 8.1 (Soon to be 8.6 once i find my CD...) in it, and an upgraded CD drive (the one it had in it was all grind-y and i don't trust it, so i salvaged the CD-ROM from the PM7300)... Is it worth putting 9.1 on this little thing? i would like to be able to run iTunes, and im fairly sure it would work better on this than on my friend's Performa 5200 ( i think it is - an all in one).
