its good to hear that SOMEONE still believes that we must be constantly looking at the past and learning from our mistakes in order to do anything of value in the future. i get angry and distressed so much because i see so many people these days who think that the past is behind us, that there is nothing we can learn from it (especially those of us in the west because of all the huge mistakes the west has made, ie: slavery, colonialism, etc) and that we must constantly "redefine."
