Hi!

I was at the Dance Zone (Melodies & Memories) and I overheard some kids
talking about a new club night in downtown Detroit hosted by Terrence Parker.
They said that he is doing the night twice a month but he will only dj for an
hour or so at his own party because he is going to use the rest of the night
hold dj competitions for house and techno djs and give money prizes to the
winners and get them bookings to do parties in Detroit and other places
too!!!!!!!!!

IS THIS TRUE?

I was in Chatam Ontario on Friday and saw TP djing on Electric Circus on
Canada's MTV channel. He was awesome! They talked about his new web site and
I looked on it but I couldn't find out anything about his club night other
than the Velvet Lounge and some really cool mp3's of his music.

I also heard that TP was talking about a new party or club or something like
that on this list.

I just started djing in 1998 after I saw TP spin at the Packard Plant and
when I saw what he did to the crowd, I said to myself "I want to do that"! My
friends say that I am really good and I have tried to spin at parties, but no
one ever gives me a chance I think because I really don't know any of the
promoters or djs personally. I also know other kids who just started spinning
who feel the same way that I do. My friends all talk about how kewl TP is. I
was at Velvet that night he gave away all those holiday mix tapes (I got the
purple one, my friend got the red one, and they both are different mixes).
>From what I hear, he's always giving away stuff at parties and always takes
time to say hi to people. He once came over and talked to my friend and gave
him a free cd (TP # 6).

Yes - I am a TP fan. I have a lot of respect for him because I think he is
REALLY about the music. If it is true that he's going to do a club night to
help give unknown djs like me a chance to spin, I think this will be the BEST
thing to happen in Detroit.

So can anyone tell me if what I heard about this new TP club night is true???

werd out!
