sets he played in Sydney over the past year or so none seem to have

I don't think Derrick gets the right crowd in Sydney, personally. The city
is so obsessed with commercial UK stuff, progressive house and that
superclub Home. Of course there are always a few discerning types but I
don't think anyone could say that Sydney has an overall scene that is
amenable to Detroit and I believe the DJs themselves would confirm this.

The media is very good, though.

This time the sound was very good but the overall vibe of the venue and
crowd wasn't quite right, though apparently Derrick wasn't too fazed and by
the end he had a core of cool folks screaming for more.

I just couldn't believe how different it was to Melbourne.

Yeah. He was encouraging folks to catch Kevin Saunderson at the after party.

If you mean the week after next, then, no, it's relatively boring, but the
week after that things will pick up with Masters At Work and Frankie
Knuckles and I'm hearing rumours that Common Factor's coming to town.

Chicks On Speed will play at that festival and they sound quite interesting.
They have done some stuff with DJ Hell's International DeeJay Gigolo label.

Peace
