Afterhours is a label that I believe is a division of Underground
Construction (UC Music)... formerly known as Strictly Hype. It's mostly an
underground house based label, featuring artist like Donna Blakely and Paul
Johnson. Moody is somehow affiliated with Chicago-based IHR, which I think
is Bad Boy Bill's label. The big labels in Chicago used to be Chicago Trax
and DJ International... I can't confirm for sure whether those are out of
business or not, but I haven't seen anything released on them in ages it
seems. Someone else on the list probably knows more than I do. The only
other music label off the top of my head is JasperStone Records, run by
dj/producer Bobby D. That label has always been primarily focused on hard
house... seeing as how hard house has nowhere near the popularity in the
windy city that it did a couple of years ago, I'm not sure if they are
putting out new music in the volume that they once were.
