I completely agree with ana. It was a GREAT night. Flash backs of the infamous Hot Box parties danced in my head all night. Ana pretty much said what needed to be said. Thank you once again to the foundation crew for a great night. Dan Bell is next week and then chicago man Boo Williams the weekend after that. This is the medicine NYC needed.
happy vday!! diana
From: Ana Dane <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: (313) nyc - theo parrish Date: Sun, 13 Feb 2000 23:05:45 -0500 for anyone who didn't go to theo parrish at flamingo east this past saturday night, you definitely missed an excellent evening. the mixing was nothing too flashy, just straight-ahead and pretty smooth, but the selection made it an amazing night...i don't go out much, but i know that you usually can't hear no ufo's and clein + m.b.o. played in the same night around these parts. it was SO good to hear that kind of music (esp. the older stuff) nice and loud. thankfully the set-up at the club had been fixed from 2 weeks ago so you could actually dance, and almost the entire place was getting down. it was nice to see a crowd actually appreciating quality music- i haven't witnessed that in a very long time. i advise everyone in the area to get down to this night soon. dan bell is coming on the 19th as far as i know, and if last night was any indication, then no one should miss it...it can even bring lurkers out of their shells and onto the dancefloor. thanks to theo and the foundation crew for bringing him to this often 313-deprived land. the flamingo is at 219 2nd ave., between 13th and 14th, btw. -ana
