> Once again, I highly recommend Dick Hebdige's remarkable little book
> "Cut 'n Mix" as the definitive guide to the history here.

Another book reccomendation: 'Last Night A DJ Saved My Life' by Bill
Brewster and Frank Broughton. Excellent history of the DJ and the
various key phases of dance/club culture, covering Northern Soul,
disco, hip-hop, house, techno, garage etc. Very readable style,
totally addicitve, full of brilliant stories - should be required
reading for any DJ. To be honest I put it up there with 'Techno
Rebels' as an essential dance music text...
