Heh. Just to bring this full-circle:

Fixer and I introduced cEvin Key (Skinny Puppy/Download/Cyberaktif/PlatEAU/etc.)
to Richie Hawtin when Richie came through to do his Decks, EFX and 909 gig at
the Viper Room 2 weeks ago. Canadian superstar summit! T'was a Kodak Moment.
Too bad I didn't have my camera with me ...

(Need I say that Richie totally rocked it? The place was still 2/3rds full at
2 AM when he finished, something I've never seen before in that joint ... )

In sorta-vaguely-313-related news, cEvin told me that he hopes to get his
upcoming solo project mastered at Hardwax. (He's a serious Chain Reaction fan)

Speaking of European travel, hey you 4 Dutchmen of the Apocalypse! I'm coming
over to Amsterdam for Queen's Day! I'll be there from 2 PM April 27th 'til
the morning of May 1st. Don't have everything finalized yet, but I will be
there for the Queen's Day festivities during the daytime and will be going to
Awakenings that night (April 29th - Alter Ego live, Sven Vath for 4 hours,
Dave Clarke and Steve Rachmad ... woot!). Gimme a shout, you guys.

I also expect to be at WMC again, am still working out details on how I'm
going to get there (involving going to a Computer Security conference in
Orlando 4 days before WMC starts, then sneaking down for WMC during the middle
of the work-related conference ... hehehehe). Personally, though, I think
everyone should save their pennies and go to Sonar in Barcelona instead ...
if you don't have a WMC pass, WMC can be expensive (i.e. US $20 a pop for each
party is the norm), it's not easy to see what you want to see without going
around to lots of different parties each night (again, serious $$$ if you
don't have a conference pass), and then there's the parties you miss out on
because they either conflict with another one (e.g. Planet E party vs. seeing
Funkstoerung/Andrea Parker/A Guy Called Gerald - auugh!) or you simply don't
hear about them (e.g. the Transmat and M_nus shindigs last year). Whereas at
Sonar you pay one price (around US $78 last year) for all 3 days, 12 Noon to
10 PM in one location, then Midnight to 7 or 8 (or 9) AM in the beach location,
you can float around and check other stuff out without paying separate
admission, and heck ... Sonar is just a LOT cooler than shmoozing by the
Fountainbleu pool :-)
