If you really want an 808 type drum machine with sequencer, the Korg ER-1 is great. It has tru analog sounds, idiot-proof 808 sequencing with accent, built in delay and low boost, and easy solos and mutes. The best thing-it is one of the few(only?) modern drum machines that can record/play new parts on the fly without stopping!- a tremendous bonus for live PAs like mine. Its sounds are unique-they are very 808-like, but are not copies of those sounds like the Drumstation or any one of the new Roland boxes. Overall, a very fun and loveable piece of gear.
