Sean came to Iowa City to spin last year and dropped me a copy of this. It is a remarkably smooth and deep exploration of techno. which has some bumping tracks, but also some pieces that are incredible 4 am chill material.
Having grown up with techno in Detroit, this record has the traits of a classic jazzy techno track -- Kevin Saunderson comes to mind more than, say, Jeff Mills. But Allegory and Metaphor is beyond that a very personal work. It really does what art is supposed to -- express what is unique about Sean as an artist, instead of striving merely to conform to conventions of the form. I personally want this record to be a big success, if for no other reason than to make it possible for Sean to give more of his time to music, because with "Allegory and Metaphor" he's only just gotten started. kent williams -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.mp3.com/chaircrusher -- tunes http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/directory.cgi?autostart=chaircrusher -- mix
