Yes. Hearing Dee-Lite in jr. high (and 808 State and, um, that Stone Roses dance record a few years later) was sort of a revelation, though it did take a bit longer for dance music to fully break through my punk-indie-industrial young tastes.

One of my best moments out was a few years ago at a loft-style house in Seattle called Lish House. It was six a.m. or so and the crowd was flagging--sitting down, half asleep--until the DJ, Eddie, put on "Groove is in the Heart" and then a few bossa nova records. Perfect.

Someone can probably correct me: I think Lady Miss Kier spins jungle now, right?
