It's not always possible to tell just from sound samples, but this may
well be one of the great records of the year. Shake finds ways to be
funky everyone else missed. Track 1 is driven by a dirty, flanged,
gated drum loop, vague looming bass and strange twittering noises.
Track 2 is a simple drum pattern with piano samples hitting right on
top of the drums, and this subtle conga slap in the holes. Track 3 is
a guitar loop + breakbeat. Track 4 is a simple house pattern with a
giant bassline that gets tweaked and modulated, and at times it breaks
up like its coming through a bad cable.

All of these tracks are 'simple' but if you've ever tried making
techno you know complicated is easy and simple is hard. Shake can
devastate with simple.
