Seth did spend a fair amount of time living in the Detroit area
though, so I think he counts. I remember hearing him play records in a
basement in Ferndale along with Lee Curtiss for an extended period of
time, maybe 3 years ago.

But I would note that again, both Kyle and Seth are really more on the
house tip...

But this does bring up a point: the only way to make it is to get
booked in Europe, and that's not necessarily an easy thing to pull
off, especially for somebody younger. Surely there could be more
potential up and coming artists who will never get anywhere because
they don't have enough money and / or connections to get to Europe
regularly. You'll definitely never get noticed playing out in Detroit
or Chicago... And it's not like putting a good release out would be
enough to get anyone's attention now.

So I guess my point is, suppose there was somebody really hot on the
rise, what are the chances that the list would ever find out about
them? The world has changed a lot since techno started...
