This Friday night I'm hosting the first segment of a 2-part radio series
on Dan Curtin called "Planetary Sounds from Cleveland - The Music of Dan
Curtin". It's happening this Friday night, May 4, 10P-2A PDST (GMT minus
7 hours, London time minus 8 hours - use San Francisco time to compute
time difference form your city) on KFJC-FM, 89.7 MHz, in Los Altos
Hills, CA (San Francisco Bay Area).
Out of the area peoples can listen in via the webcast, linked at
http://kfjc.org , and download/stream an archive for up to 2 weeks after
show time, linked at the same site (both live stream and archives are
linked right at the top of the web page). Dan was gracious enough to
grant me an interview, and I'll be playing some segments from that
interspersed with gems from a 20-year career in techno. The first half
of the special will concentrate on music from 1992 to 2000.
Part 2 will happen next Friday, May 11, in the same time slot, and will
feature music from 2000 to the present, along with a recent DJ set.
Enjoy - I'm sure digging the music as I piece this thing together.
Curtin's music was unique and vital right from his first releases.
