No doubt. I'm sure he was very involved in developing the music over there.
In fact he still does spin some tech-housey sounding stuff in his sets,
however the overly orchestrated, time-stretched build ups still tend to be
rather anti-climactic.

one thing that may tie oakie to 313, albeit a long stretch, is that Oakie
was pretty a founder of the Manchester acid houseparty scene (not THE
founder, but an important player) which was using music that generally was
coming from the midwest here...
