X313 present transit New Years Eve Gainsborough Studios 17 Poole Street Hoxton London N1 Sunday 31st December 2000 9:00pm - 7:00am When X313 presented UR (Interstellar Fugitives) in 1998, it became the most talked about event of that year bar none. Numerous party people who could not gain entrance to the sold out event shed gallons of tears. In 1999 our presentation, Hoxton NYE, was one of a handful of successful New Years Eve events in London. In 2000 we took monthly residency in Plastic People, Hoxton, mixing celebs with some of the most cutting edge DJs from around the world. Our Transit nights in the heart of Hoxton has been London's only regular interactive club night, with web casts from all participating artists and the crowd. These too have been over subscribed. Close to its centenary year the Gainsborough studios gained notoriety as Alfred Hitchcock's resident studio for the most adventurous part of his career. This culminated with the film "The Lady Vanishes". Transit NYE 2000 is a 4-arena celebration of the most creative and exciting music around today themed in the spirit of Hitchcock. Transit will comprise 4 rooms theme along the lines of 4 Hitchcock films, Spellbound, Birds, Vertigo and Notorious. In addition expect ample chill out areas with the most comfortable seating. The licensed bars will serve your entire favourite tipple seamlessly into the New Year. We have scour the globe gathering artists and DJs Hitchcock would be proud of. 01 VERTIGO Underground Resistance presents Interstellar Fugitives [Mike Banks, Drexciya, Aztec Mystic, Suburban Knight, Perception, Deacon, Chaos] UR are taking time out from their battle with plagiarists who attempted to rob them of this years biggest club anthem "Knights of the Jaguar". They will rock your body into submission, in the process reminding you why UR is the most innovative camp in electronic music today. 02 SPELL BOUND Kenny Dixon JR. [Moodymann], Bob Stanley [Saint-Etienne] Kenny Dixon JR, is reputed to be the most sort after DJ/producer in the world, just ask Home. Expect his unique brand of house music delivered with the sort of gusto and passion no one else can replicate, just don't ask us how we manage to get hold of him. House music and furious disco all night long. 03 NOTORIOUS Barry 7 [Add N to (X)], Jarvis Cocker (tbc) [Pulp], Runaways, Remedy from Bed (Sheffield) Barry and Jarvis collaborates at a previous transit, in the process surprising purists and shattering all previously held preconceptions about them. They will be joined by Hoxton's favourite sons The Runaways on 4 turntables cutting and scratching the most sort-after breaks, hip hop, jungle and funk. 04 BIRDS Girls and boys, in touch with their femininity, will love this haven. This space is reserved for the girls who may find it daunting to fight their way to the regular bars. Affirmative action for the club generation if you like. Transit is a 3000 capacity New Years Eve extravaganza destined to go down in history as the one and only dance music event ever held at the Gainsborough studio.
