I skipped fest, but went to three daytime events: 1. Tied boat party with Doc Martin and Djulz 2. Resolute party @ Exodus with Dan Bell, Zip, and Sonja Moonear 3. Old Miami with Mathew Johnson, Derek Plaslaiko, and Magda
I had an amazing time and enjoyed all the music at these events, but seeing Zip and Sonja was the highlight of my weekend, besides reconnecting with friends; no surprise given how much I love Perlon! ;-) The crowds at all the events were solid, mature and there for the music. Old Miami has calmed down a bit from the past and was better than expected this year. ~David On Thu, Jun 2, 2016 at 2:05 PM Lori Polemenakos <girly...@gmail.com> wrote: > Agreed, the only afterparty I went to was the Ellum showcase at Populux on > Saturday (hey, I'm 44 now and had a lung infection and was on antibiotics > the whole week prior) but it was a treat to see the crowd there waking up > to and suddenly "getting" the utterly flawless MAARS and Convextion sets. > Maceo Plex was the draw, but his wife Christine's DJ set was PURE FIRE. > > You can see more of her skills here in the Odd Parents Boiler Room set: > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYPVt8Ze9Rw > > Gerard, not sure if you're on 313 list anymore... but I'm glad you finally > got to play a live PA set to some locals and out-of-towners, even though > you weren't booked at Movement proper. ;) > > I saw a lot of geezers and very familiar faces; met lots of people who > were talented, humble and nice; I'd say the ratio of dudebros and kandi > kids was around 18%-20% tops this year, about 30% gravers, and the rest of > us were the truly dedicated heads that come every year that's possible/live > within driving distance. > > This year marks the second time in 7 or 8 festivals where I saw someone > get into a fight.
