Deforest Brown AKA Speaker Music has taken the Drexciyan mythos and run with it. Is it Detroit techno? No, It's hard to say what it is exactly, There's some of the relentless rhythm of footwork, but it isn't footwork. It's avant-garde Afro-Futurist electronic music, an overwhelming sonic assault. I have to say that I love anything under the heading of Afro-Futurism, though I have to say I don't entirely understand it. That's OK by me.
