(PS: you may also check this Reddit sub, which I found to be quite useful https://www.reddit.com/r/amsterdam_rave/ Clubs (I more on the dark hypnotic techno side of music -Mulero, DVS1, Svreca etc- and that most nights were mainly house night with a relaxed vibe, so not exactly my kind of music, but…) Melkweg: I went for “techno Tuesday” with Edit Select and music was ace. Crowd is very mixed up, with lots of tourist but it’s free and it was well worth a visit… near is Paradiso: I went for Killer Mike concert and it was good, but depends on program… (Note: Melkweg – Paradiso -> very toursitic zone) Garage Noord, Lofi, Club Raum: outside of the centre (3-4 km from Amsterdam center), small but quite famous spot… check lineups and see if they could be of some interest Radion: closed in august, lineups seem interesting for september Nachbar: very small club/bar in the centre Bars/cafe/restaurant Mikkeller bar (near Melkweg but just outside the tourist route) if you are into creaft beers (and burgers) Lourens (Jordaan) for coffe and top notch-pastry (no sits, standing, good for breakfast) Eye Filmmuseum bar/terrace and Pllek restaurant/bar (Noord): to chill/work with beautyful view of the canal Helling 7 (Noord): restaurant with a beautiful view on dock (check REM, too on the other side of the canal) La Oliva (Jordaan): cool tapas and spanish food/wine Many vintage clothing shop around town, with cool brands (Margiela, Comme, etc): if interested, let me know! Recors Shops: apart from second hand (many), I suggest a visit to In-deep-N-dance record store and Rush Hour (both Jordaan, center) Have fun!
