Jeremy Wentworth develops plugins for the VCV Rack modular synthesizer
program. He's also a musician, and I was particularly impressed by
this piece for scratching that Robert Hood minimal itch.

I also use VCVRack for music and my whole compositional practice is
modeled by what UR and Drexciya were doing in the 1990s, where you get
a bunch of machines going in sync and then mute and un-mute sounds on
the fly during mixdown.

It's something I'd suggest to any young people to try if they're
starting out making techno. It's an open-ended environment with the
possibility of great complexity.

But it also maps neatly on the classic techno production mode: mute
and unmute sounds, add and remove effects, switch patterns, tweak
synth sounds.

I wish Huckaby was still with us because he would be ALL OVER this,
particularly in his teaching.
