i think to get the feel of detroit, it's good to look to detroit artists and
labels, as a person's creativity can be influenced by their surroundings.

theo parrish - parallel dimensions (cd & vinyl) - deep, moody, percussive, i
picture detroit in winter when i hear this cd (actually any of theo's stuff)

reggie craig - moods of electronica cd - a bit more diverse, but a detroit
feel

psyche bfc elements - early carl craig, but not dated

moods & grooves (esp. rick wade, mike grant, and alton miller)

any alton miller (rhythm exposed on distance is very nice)

any mike huckaby (harmonie park, m3, cross section)

recloose (spelunking, so this is the dining room, can't take it)

aril brikha - deeparture in time - i never get sick of this cd...

and about a thousand more.....
