I was having a discussion on Friday about how a lot of DJs blend a set very
smoothly, choosing records that fit a style rather than just play good records.
Myself and a lot of my friends rate Dave Clarke as the best DJ we've heard. He's
prepared to mix Techno, Electro & House into one set, often banging in tunes and
then cutting them up, mixing the off beats, scratching etc. Myself & my friend
agreed that this is what you really want when you're out clubbing, it's more fun
and gives more of a party feel to the night. On New Year's Eve he was even
playing "Voodoo Ray" and another old classic mixed in with the usual Techno &
Electro.
While I'm on the subject of Dave Clarke, I was wondering how well he's rated
over there in the States. I've been very impressed with Richie Hawtin & Rolando,
but still think that you can't beat Dave. C for selection & ability. What's the
verdict???
