I saw a busta rhymes and roots performance on (i wanna say) conan o'brian? last night when I was flipping through the channels--sounded pretty tight to me.

i saw that Snoop performance about six or seven years ago, with the live
band. it did sound bad, but that's because you're trying to reproduce
electronic sounds, with no live instrument influence. of course it's going
to sound bad.

what's wrong with R&B/rappers doing live instrument music? Mos Def did it
on the Tonight Show a few weeks ago and it sounded smooth as hell.

they were not saying anything about getting back to
the roots, simply that live instruments will be
existing more & more in the electronic music
genres....

and possibly replacing the dj/ synth or whatever
during the live show and pruducers & artist seem to be
into making this happen as of late.
