Tonight: The Money Programme BBC2, 7.30pm 'Dance music nowadays bears little resemblance to the days in the 80s when the police were on constant alert for illegal raves. Now it's superclubs such as Cream and Renaissance, corporate sponsorship and DJs with six-figure salaries. Club owners realised the huge potential to expend and now make more money on branded CDs than on club admissions. The corporate world is happy too, as it has finally discovered a way of targeting notoriously fickle 18-24-year olds. But now that the elite has become the mainstream, a backlash is already underway, as disgruntled dance fans are again hosting the sort of select events that started the whole thing.'
