Yep! I just got back the interview with Earl 'Spanky' Smith and here is what he had to say:

What inspired you to do a remake of the legendary track Blackout?

”Blackout” actually just happens to be one of my favorite tracks from the 80’s and I find it an honor to have been given the chance to do the remake .Actually DJ Pierre and I had discussed doing a remake back in the early 90’s and just found time to do it .
