So I'm about half-way through my set last night @ a house party when this guy with *that crazy look in his eye* comes up to the turntables. I finished mixing out of a record and he was just about to put his finger on the record to stop it just as I grabbed it out from under him. As I filed the record away and looked for the next track I noticed he put his finger on the platter and stopped it. As I stood back up with the new record time slowed down. I watched this guy (who was in another world) grab the tonearm, and rip it off the turntable. He literally grabbed it and yanked as hard as he could. However, the tonearm did not completely detatch, the wires inside the tonearm were still connected to the headshell. This did not satisfy him. He gave another yoink and ripped it completely off. I think everyone who could see this happen that owns a turntable let out a horified gasp. As we all stood there in awe, someone eventually restrained him before he could pull the effects box down from on top of a speaker. As he was pulled away from the tunrtables he managed to say "but I'm having fun".
Talk about being upstaged... Despite having a third turntable there, the rest of my set suffered accordingly. Unfortunately, this turntable was on loan for the party.
