Kevin Krahel Track review

These are tracks that I am reviewing for inclusion into a new mp3.com station
exclusively for [313] members. Instead of just cramming all the tracks up
there, I decided to review them and provide accurate info about each one.
Unfortunately, this leads to a station full of tracks that I enjoy (mostly
Detroit), but hey. I'm doing the station! :)

I didn't have time to listen to them all yet, so I just checked the Detroit
tracks this time...

"Changeling..."

Ok, where can I buy this track on vinyl. This Kevin Krahel is someone who
obviously is very familiar with Detroit Style electronic music. I can feel
Carl Craig and Derrick May influence all over this track. The lead synth slow
down in the middle is sweet!

"Moody"

Starts off with off-tempo drums, tricking the listener into thinking the Kev
doesn't know what he's doing. That's my style and I'm moody as well! Uh oh,
here comes the bass-line. Nice, heavy, and beautifully offset by a nice lead
stab.
No way! Old school stuff kickin' in here! This track is moody. I'm talkin'
old school snare/kick break down with old school stab-line and record scratch
included. Don't really care for the linearly, upword-sloping, stab pattern,
but hang on here comes a break down. I'll get back to you in a second...

Niiiiiiiiice change up brother. This song takes an uppity track and transforms
it into lo profile, ufo landing-type of groove. Very nice addition to the
station.

"Internal"

O.k. I've heard this before. I think I've seen this track on the charts. Once
again a nice display of Detroit style knowledge all the way from Texas. I'd
like to get this track on vinyl. It would be a nice transition track. Hey
cool vox. I like when the heavy beat kicks in 3/4 a way thru the song. This
guy is good with the keys...

"In My Hair"

This one has some funk to it. Nice, funky, bass-guitar bassline is always a
good way to start off a track, IMHO. It is nicely offset by soft triangle
noises. This track is very full.

Overall, "Changeling" is my fav. Or maybe "Moody" is my fav. Eh, they are
both great tracks. Check them out if you haven't already...
