you can resurrect those dead cd with tooth paste. but try a paste wax first and polish the cd with a soft cloth & wax. try that maybe 3 times before using TP with TP use a dab and a soft cloth find the deep scratch which will be apparent after waxing. use a circular motion on the deep scratch with a moderate pressure rinse with h2o and rewax . (you can also use a fine jewelers polish and a dremal. but that's going a little over board) usually wax will make the cd able be ripped and burned. *I have never use any of the above methods on a cdr*
