i spoke with derrick at an afterparty after the wizard show in detroit a few months ago. he was extremely cordial. i ask him the same question that you are asking. he said that he has not stopped producing but has stopped (although i suspect not for good) releasing his music. if i were to guess i would say that there is probably a lot of material stockpiled. but as is the right with every artist, he has chosen not to allow his art to be publicly viewed. maybe a piece of bad luck for the listening public, but overall his choice. -sam
