A brief review of the Lil' Louis party in Eastern mkt last night...
*PROS:
-Theo's set
-free beer
-lots of people showing up (including Baby Ford et al...)
-Louis playing Candido & Dinosaur L
*CONS:
-MOST of Louis' set ("Real Jazz"?...TWICE?? ...please!)
-HORRIBLE eq'ing of sound system
-$20 dollars!!!!
a pity, really. I enjoyed the vibe initially, however I think alot of
people left early due to the sound trouble (and Louis didn't start until
after 2:30, which didn't help). I heard he almost didn't play at all
because he didn't like the speaker setup and demanded they be moved
around....
