armin holzgethan:

could someone please outline the differences in the the artwork of the
different pressings, especially of the first two?
i know the last pressing has black labels etc.
and what about fragile? two pressings?

A good resource is Ebay, there's sometimes lots of pictures of different Transmat label graphics.

I know the very first pressing of "Nude photo" is a plain silver label w/ black lettering & Transmat logo, and the artist name is indeed "RYTHIM IS RYTHIM", not "Rhythim" with an H like the later pressings...

I have a feel that the later releases usually had Alan Oldham's graphics, like Strings of life has neat drawn pic. I've also seen different colours in the same graphics, like Beyond the dance printed in brown (!!!) colour and super cool red-to-green fading graphics...

K-Alexi's "All for Lee-sah" first pressing had cool Oldham drawing of a lady (printed on white label), and the second pressing had a somewhat decadent red graphics I don't know what to think of.

The black label ones, "Classics" are the latest yes...

These experts on this board should make a site where all the Transmat graphics were presented. It's strange actually, that no one (?) hasn't done that already, a dedicated Detroit classics web page...?
