New CD from Herbie. He's really keepin on! Featured collaborations with
Carl Craig, Chaka Khan, Rob Swift and A Guy Called Gerald. Really groovy
cuts. Wayne Shorter plays on it too, which is a nice treat. I'm so glad to
see award winning jazz artists push the boundries of jazz-electronic fusion.
And no wonder that Carl is involved. Seems he's everywhere!!

I think the standout track is "This is Rob Swift". Gerald gets nice and
deep with the beats in "Black Gravity", and Chaka gets reflective on "The
Essence". Carl's track "Kembero Part 1" is a satisfying way to start the
record, but the female vocal seemed a little too contrived. It's easily the
most electronic sounding cut on the album.

Produced by Bill Laswell, and most of the album carries his distinct mixing
sound. If you've ever heard the Axiom CDs or the Panthalasa remixes, you
get an idea of what the production's like.

Released early next month, so don't sleep!

Vince
