2am - ? : $20.00 (858 Ste. Catherine E., Montreal)

Stefan Brugesch aka Steve Bug was born back in 1969 in Nienburg/Weser, but
lived in Bremen throughout most of his childhood. During this time, he soon
discovered that music was his first and everlasing love. Infected by
Breakdance-sounds and characteristic Synth-Pop of the early and mid 80's,
Steve Bug got into house in 1987 when he first visited a club called Front
in Hamburg, and soon became a regular at the legendary birthplace of the
german house scene. Inspired, motivated and fascinated by the groovy sounds
of Karlheinz Stockhausen as well as the skills of DJ Boris Dlugosch, he
spent hours and hours visiting recordstores, hungry for new tracks imported
from England and the States which built a basis for his first mixtapes,
which led to bookings at private house parties, and can be seen as the first
step towards what he is now - a highly respected DJ and producer on the
international circuit.
In 1991, he arranged some parties at the Bremen-based club MAXX and starts a
weekly club which took place every Sunday. A few months later, Steve Bug
played several german cities, where some friends, convinced by his talent
and skills, booked him into the well-known Parkcafe.

His Sunday sessions were cancelled in early 1992 and soon Steve became a
residen at the MAXX, playing every Friday with DJ Jens Mahlstedt. His
connection to Munich worked well and Steve Bug was invited to clubs like
Babalu. Hamburg based DJ Henry of UNIT-fame invited him to play at his
regular night and finally Steve Bug performed at his first Loveparade in
1992. During this time the friendship between DJ Henry and Steve grew and
they began their first studio sessions in late 1992. (read more at
