Here's a quick recap of the Herbert show last night in NYC. I went to the second of the two nights he did at the Mercury Lounge. There was a pretty good sized line of people outside when I got there at 10:30. Both shows apparently sold out so I was glad I got my tickets online ahead of time. The Mercury Lounge is a pretty typical space, a bar upfront and the performance space in the back. The space was pretty full when I got there and there was a dj playing some pretty awful 80's freestyle.
Matthew and company came on at @ 11pm and launched into a few Bodily Functions cuts. The sound in the space was ok but obviously more in tune for a rock performance. The low end was a little lacking. In between the three sets of Bodily Functions stuff Matthew did a few Radio Boy tracks (The GM Food Chain, Manufactured Music, The Gap, and Starbucks) After being there for his performance at the Planet E party maybe the sound under whelmed a bit last night but it is unfair to compare. Probably the highlight track of the evening was 'You Don't Know Me'. The crowd seemed to get together for that one. An excellent night though and thanks to Herbert for getting things started on time as staying out till 3am makes for a rude beginning of the day at the office. -dave --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
