almost forgot the 57 and 58 are primarily a live mic. you will find the 57 used inthe studio a lot, but as a cabnet mic or drum mic, they sound great on guitars and snare/tom drums.
if you want a mic for studio use, I would suggest something else. even though they would work fine and do the job, I would get a condenser mic instead of a moving coil. a question very simular to this just came up on 313techknow list and I suggested a marshall electronic mxl2001p condenser mic. it's a great mic I had a guy demo one for for me. he put it up aginst neuman u87 (which is top of the line, 4 grand easy, dont make anymore, etc.) and the mic sound almost just like the neuman set in a carbonoid pattern, but this mic is under $200, and if you buy one now they will throw in a different mic for free. heres a link: http://www.mxlmics.com/special.html http://www.mars-cam.com/ scotto --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
