The building The Velvet Rooms is in is owned by Railtrack and due to redevelopment of Tottenham Court Road tube station building work was due to begin in 2003 leading to the closure of The Velvet Rooms. However in true f**ked up railtrack fashion they have given Velvet 2 weeks notice of closure. (It's funny, the trains are always late but the building work is early!??!) We have enjoyed over 6 years of amazing Ultimate Base & BASE parties with the world's highest acclaimed international DJ's and artists at Velvet and we leave there with more than a tinge of sadness and fond memories. Due to such short notice of the closure, we do not have another venue suitable to continue the BASE night ready to move to. We will be looking at alternative venues and if we find one suitable for us then we will look to re-open in the near future. If anyone has any ideas then please let us know. We will still be doing BASE specials at The End and other venues in London, the UK and Europe This does not affect our monthly party in Barcelona and the weekly party at El Cel in Ibiza. Our final night will of course feature the residents JIM MASTERS, TREVOR ROCKCLIFFE, BRENDA RUSSELL & DJ LULU plus a few special guests from the last few years.
