TOUR INFO:

Brimming with enthusiasm after a year long period of near incestuous
collaboration, Pan/tone, the Uncut, Jacob Fairley and Adam Marshall are now
set to bring their take on techno, house and electronic music out of the
confines of Toronto.

With experience playing across North America, Europe and South America under
their belts, this group has decided to appropriate the conventional rock
tour and see how it can apply to the dance club. These artists have all
played with one another enough times to be confident in their ability to
create an entire night of seamless sets where one artist flows into the
next, mixing djing, live instrumentation, hardware and software.

These four chaps - partnering and going solo in their various incarnations -
intend to get in a van and bring a little rock to the dancefloor; a few
hotel rooms might be worse for wear and the occasional TV may end up in the
swimming pool, but isn't it time that techno finally dropped its pants in
the face of austerity.

THE UNCUT BIOGRAPHY:
LABELS: KILLER, DUMB-UNIT, SENDER

Influences such as the icy post punk sounds of Joy Division, the trashy rock
sprawl of The Stooges, the wall of sound of My Bloody Valentine, the clever
intricacy of Television and the pop sensibilities of New Order meet the
hyper modernism of minimal techno such as Burger/Ink and the sterile Detroit
electro pulse of Adult.

Electronic instrumentation including analog synthesizers, drum machines and
samplers share equal space with the traditional instruments of the rock
archetype - guitar, bass and the human voice.

Live, The Uncut performs as a duo. Jacob Fairley does the guitaring and the
vocaling, Ian Worang does the bassing and pile of electronic boxes help out
with the rest of the noises.

Performances have taken place in such disparate venues as Element and The
Tequila Lounge. Each type of venue - rock bar and dance club - showcases a
different side of the band and goes to further the notion that real
connections exist between all of these artificially separated camps.

In spite of all of this, they would rather not be described as electroclash,
synthcore, new new wave, electronica, ghetto tech, electro tech, 80s
synth-pop revivalists or anything else like that.

With an imminent releases on Killer, Dumb Unit and Sender, The Uncut are
eager to begin sessions for a full length release and to start bringing
their live show a greater number of both rock and dance venues.

The Uncut are from Toronto, not New York, Detroit, Berlin or Cologne.
