System
10-3am, weekly Thursdays
@ Propaganda, 201 Wardour Street, London, W1

Thursday September 12th, with:

Marco Carola (Zenit/Question)
James Ruskin (Tresor/Blueprint)
65d Mavericks - Live (Surface/Blueprint)

Presenting System - Marco Carola's new weekly club venture.

Last week's System launch was a massive success, with London's techno
massive turning out in full force to pack Propaganda and get on down to some
excellent music. Three good reasons why the club will go from strength to
strength was apparent in the residents team, with all three whipping up a
storm in the main room. Special guest, Gaetano Parisio - who worked some
three-deck magic to rapturous reaction, provided extra ammunition.

Every Thursday, Marco and fellow System residents on rotation - Mark Broom
and Terry Mitchell, will be giving Central London a dose of the best techno,
electro and house around. This is the first time that Marco Carola has held
a club residency in London, and he'll be making the most of the opportunity
to showcase some world-class guest DJs and live acts from around the world -
playing on a state of the art sound system in one of London's coolest
venues.

For this second event, System welcomes one of UK techno's leading lights
along with an outfit that are surely rising stars.

James Ruskin came to prominence in the mid-nineties - fast gaining a
reputation as a talented DJ, with props attributed from the likes of Dave
Clarke and Surgeon. The Blueprint imprint, which he established along with
Richard Polson (see below) in 1996, will be familiar to most as a label that
pushed British techno to the forefront of the international stage - along
the way exposing fellow talents such as Oliver Ho.
These days, James' hectic DJ schedule takes him across the world most weeks,
but he still finds time for a production career - having release two
full-length albums for Tresor as well as his debut for Blueprint. London
appearances are a rare occurrence; so make the most of this opportunity to
witness the skills.

65d Mavericks is a project created by Surface records founder and Blueprint
records co-founder Richard Polson, and Nick Dunton - founder of Ebullition
and a producer in his own right, who has worked under various guises in many
different underground scenes over the last ten years or so.
If you haven't heard of these guys yet, you will have soon. Their incendiary
'Defining The Symptom' doublepack is forthcoming on Blueprint, and they're
fast getting a reputation as a live act to be reckoned with. During a recent
gig at the Melkweg in Amsterdam, the room was being worked so hard that the
crowd and even the following DJ wanted them to keep playing!
