What with Carl Craig and Jeff Mills in town that night, it looks like a busy night.
Saturday 28th of September, Starr Auditorium, 19.30 - Tate Modern Vladislav Delay with Tennis and Rosy Parlane Contemporary electronic music has emerged as one of the most pervasive forms of experimental music of recent times. This event features performers who use new technologies to create a uniquely digital sound. Vladislav Delay is at the forefront of international electronic music. Part ambient, part percussive, Delay's music is infused with an elegiac quality. Aural fragments loop and overlay creating clouds of granular, occasionally corrosive sonic textures. Delay also records and performs as Luomo. Tennis exploit the dynamics of echo and delay to produce a sound which is both ghostly and organic. They have toured Europe, playing on occasion with Delay. Rosy Parlane produces full and intricate soundscapes which are innately musical, involving and affecting. Parlane also runs the label Sigma Editions, which released Vladislav Delay's first album, Ele. A collaboration with Sprawl in association with the Finnish Institute Tickets £6 (£3 concessions) Booking is recommended.
