ivan smagghe (volga select) has a pretty nice mix-cd recently out on
chronowax (paris) called "Hard!". dunno what's up with the awful title,
which has nothing to do with the music (laidback disco = hard?!)...it must
be some kind of paris scene statement or something.
overall it has a pretty metro area disco sound, with a little bit of electro
thrown in. not amazing just a solid, nice mix with a kinda interesting
tracklist. and it's all mixed off actual vinyl (crackly! but not sloppy), a
rarity these days, seems everybody just makes mix-cd's digitally these days.
anyways i confess i am on it, but i wouldnt say anything if i didnt dig it.
