We are pleased to announce details of the 2nd part of this 4 part series of events, which will concentrate on sounds from the dub spectrum. ******************* Rick Hopkins/Hazell The Outlet collective have been putting on underground parties in and around the capital for a number of years, and Slices is happy to welcome 2 more of their crew to the decks. Rick Hopkins, who also DJs for Haywire, has been >>spinning since the mid-nineties where he was a resident at Andy Weatherall's legendary Blood Sugar night. Although he is perhaps more renowned for his driving electro sets, Rick has a consumate repertoire, and alongside the mighty Hazell, whose sets are known for their tangential content, expect to hear some seriously dubby textures and grooves from Pole to the likes of Basic Channel and beyond. Lee Berwick An integral part of the LS Diezel soundsystem in the early nineties, Lee's knowledge of dub reggae is second to none. His own Digidub project has mutated from a debut LP in 1993 to being appointed by the Swedish goverment in 1998 to work with avant-garde Butoh dancer Su-En on a project called "Scrap Bodies", the end result being a CD recorded entirely in a Swedish scrapyard. More recently Lee worked on an aural project derived from sounds taken directly from the River Thames, which was later shown museums around the capital. He has remixed work for the likes of Funki Porcini and Dreadzone, and has toured/DJ'ed extensively over the whole world. Dub-Sounds After Plant43's praised debut performance last month, we are happy to welcome yet another debutant, this time Jamie Croyden's Dub-Sounds project.
