sorry to keep this OT thread going, i'm a fan of my portable MD and thought 
Sony's NetMD stuff was pants but found a cool (and cheap!) product that allows 
you to get ripped/downloaded/streaming audio from your PC to MD without having 
to upgrade your MD

an aussie company xitel produces a USB device allowing you to record from your 
PC direct to your mindisc recorder and its compatible with all recording decks. 
You plug it in, load up the audio files you want to record from your player of 
choice and hit record. i think the MDPort-DG2 sells for about $50 USD, and Sony 
sell their products rebadged at an inflated price too!
