Hi All, After our success at the Warp Records Christmas Rave, Alex and I will be performing at the Royal Festival Hall, Main Hall with the Sinfonietta, a side arm of the Royal Philharmonic who will be performing classical renditions of Warp Artists. Pete 29.01.03 SPECIAL WARP / LONDON SINFONIETTA PERFORMANCE AT THE RFH THE SINFONIETTA WILL PERFORM APHEX TWIN, BOARDS OF CANADA, SQUAREPSUHER TRACKS AT THE ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL ON MARCH 8TH + MUCH MORE! The second annual Ether festival at the South Bank Centre will run from 8th - 14th March 2003. As part of the festival the Royal Festival Hall will play host to a special collaboration between the London Sinfonietta and Warp Records. On the 8th of March, the Sinfonietta conducted by Stefan Asbury, will perform works by Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada and Squarepusher alongside some of the foremost avant-garde composers of the 20th century; Gyorgy Ligeti, Karlheinz Stockhausen, John Cage, Conlon Nancarrow and Charles Ives. Mira Calix will also perform her Nunu piece live with the Sinfonietta. Nunu is a piece she composed exclusively using recordings of insect noises; from wasps, flies, larvae hatching, butterflies beating etc. Warp videos will be shown during the half-time interval and visual work will be provided by Flat-E and Bluespoon + there is talk of a special guest DJ to contiune the party later into the night - check back for more info soon. This year the second edition runs from 8th - 14th March. you can look forward to experimentations from Mathew Herbert and his big band, featuring Jamie Lidell (Jamie will also perform a live solo show!), Luke Vibert, DJ Food and many more.
