Got the Idol Tryouts Volume 1 to review, and it really raises the question: Tadd Mullinix: Is there nothing he can't do?
Also have been loving the Dykehouse track that sounds like Husker Du backing up Brian Eno. Every frickin track on this comp has something that is missing from even some music I really like: pure stupid almost-pop grooviness. It's like a big box of candy bars. Dangerously close to being commercial, not because of pandering impulses, but because it's inviting, involving, even accessible music. Big up the GI crew. This CD should turn heads!
