I thought the Mills set was great. Yeah the big upset in the beginning was pretty sad, but who knows what happened or why it happened. Regardless he jumped right back in there as if nothing had occured. I loved the fact that he went from house to hip hop to classic mills tracks, and all totally seemless with that amazing mills sound of a crazy train ride into the depths of the earth. Personally I was thrilled by his choice of the BUCKET HEADS, Ive always had a soft spot for that track, I think its great, regardless of it being top 40, top 40 does not always mean bad. My only dissapointment was not hearing 'changes of life', one of my favorites. I knew he was not going to play it though because his set was not as minimal as he sometimes plays, but as was mentioned before, his choice was totally appropriate for the space and audience. Jeff Mills rocked!!!

Also Ectomorph (BMG), got the crowd jumping on Saturday Mornign in the underground. I very much enjoyed their version of Shari Vari!

I was phyched to finally hear K hand, wow she is a hard and funky broad. Right on detroit!

Francois K was great, at the afterparty on Sun. I think it was, as well as Gene Farris on Sat. Night. Never heard either live so that was a treat for sure.

All in all I had a great time and I loved hearing that UR track ( forget the name. Is it "make your transition"?), surprized me how many djs used that track in their sets, but I thought it was great, heard the track alone a few times on my stereo. At first I did not like it, then slowly I seacretly started to like it even though I thought it was a little cheesy. But it sounds great mixed for sure, first time I heard it mixed.

Like I said, great festival, thank you so much Detroit!!! Until next year....

That would be the difference between "the wizard" and Jeff Mills = techno.
